With a name like Bel Paese, which is Italian for “beautiful country”, this cheese has much to live up to. However, with its delicate and mild taste, Bel Paese cheese lives up to its name. In 1906, Egidio Galbani invented Bel Paese and began producing it in Melzo, a small town in the Lombardy region of Italy, located near Milan.
