Parmacotto Spianata Romana is a large, flat type of Italian salami that has been seasoned with salt and pepper. Whereas typical salami is a single, rod-shaped piece of dry meat, spianata salami is much wider and contains more meat. Slicing this dry-cured meat creates long slices of salami, rather than the typical circular cuts.
Spianata salami is great for sandwiches because of its flattened shape. You can also use it as a topping for pizza, or serve it on a charcuterie board alongside fresh fruits and sharp cheeses.
