Similar to the more widely available pecorino romano, Sifor Pecorino Montanaro is a mild cheese made with milk from sheep who graze on Sicily’s verdant Sicani Mountains. This hard cheese has been aged for seven months, giving it a slight hint of spiciness.
Add a mild kick to pizzas, pasta dishes, and even cacio e pepe with this type of cheese. Use it as an alternative to parmigiano reggiano as your go-to grating cheese. Or simply enjoy it on a cheese board with fresh or dried fruit.
