Principe first began producing beechwood smoked hams and frankfurters in Trieste, a city in northeastern Italy bordering Slovenia, in 1945. It wasn’t until the 1970s that the company began producing their signature prosciuttos, which are now enjoyed in more than 40 countries around the world.
Principe 16 Months Aged Prosciutto di Parma is a high-quality Italian meat selected from the hind legs of pork. This type of prosciutto is named for Parma, Italy, where hams are hung to cure after an age-old, traditional salting process.
