What is Amish popcorn?
Amish popcorn from Amish Country Popcorn is completely natural, non-GMO, and preservative-free. It is made in Berne, Indiana, in the heart of Amish Country. Brian Lehman works the family farm that was started by his father, Roy, back in 1965. He has cultivated an intimate knowledge of what makes each type of kernel special.
What is hulless popcorn?
Part of what makes Amish Country Popcorn special is the fact many of their varieties are hulless. Hulless popcorn refers to popcorn kernels that have a very small seed coat — those pieces that get stuck between your teeth. Hulless popcorn kernels produce a fluffier result with fewer troublesome seed pieces.
What types of Amish Country Popcorn kernels are there?
There are 13 varieties of gourmet popcorn that come out of this family farm in Indiana. There are various colors, such as blue, red, and purple popcorn. While the end result is always white or yellow when fully popped, the different color kernels indicate different types of corn characteristics; some are sweeter or smaller than others. There are even mushroom popcorn kernels that turn into popcorn balls! (But no, they don’t taste like mushrooms.)
