Egg Pasta di Campofilone
Beginning in 1933, Nello Spinosi began taking his family’s homemade pasta with him on business trips to Rome to give as gifts. Thirty years later, he took his pasta making to a new level by opening his first workshop in his hometown of Campofilone. The simple art of making pasta by hand with quality Marche region wheat and fresh eggs, bronze dyes and a slow drying method gave Spinosi pasta wonderful taste and texture. Spinosi was given the Portonovo Award in 1992 for putting Campofilone and its pasta on the map. In 2013, the area’s pasta was officially given Protected Geographical Indication status.
Types of Pasta by Spinosi
Spinosi mainly focuses on long Italian pasta types, such as fettuccine and pappardelle. That said, the company also carries some small pasta types which are ideal for soups, like bentagliati, which is short, flat, thin and rectangular. In addition to their traditional egg pasta, the brand also offers flavor infused pasta, such as spinach, chili pepper, and truffle.
