Bresaola Bernina, which can also be called beef prosciutto, is a lean, raw and air-cured beef product, with regular moisture, made from lean beef cuts specially selected for their high quality, and seasoned with herbs and spices from the Valtellina region. It is low in fat and high in protein and aged for 3 months. Bernina Bresaola is most often served as an appetizer. Bresaola is not meant to be cooked and comes already prepared for consumption. It is usually sliced and can be drizzled with oil, lemon juice, or balsamic vinegar. Often served in combination with crackers, salads, and/or cheese, and also goes great on sandwiches.
