This specialty Piave Cheese has been aged for twelve months
This authentic Italian cheese has a protected designation of origin, meaning it is only produced in certain regions of Italy.
Savor on a charcuterie board with high quality prosciutto, salami, or mortadella.
Named after the Piave river, Piave DOP Stravecchio is a type of pasteurized cow's milk cheese from the Veneto region of Northern Italy. This Piave cheese has been aged for a full year and has a similar texture to Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. The taste, however, is quite distinct. This unique type of cheese is rich, sweet, nutty, and even slightly fruity.
Sample Piave cheese as part of a cheese board, or shred this Italian cheese over polenta. Piave cheese also works well when paired with dessert and Northern Italian recipes. Enjoy with a bottle of red or white wine.
