Directions
Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Cook the angel hair pasta according to package instructions (usually about 3–4 minutes).
Drain and set aside, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
Sauté the Shrimp
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and 2 tbsp of butter.
When the butter is melted and bubbly, add the shrimp in a single layer.
Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
Cook 1–2 minutes per side, just until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the pan and set aside.
Make the Lemon Butter Sauce
In the same skillet, lower heat to medium and add the remaining 2 tbsp butter.
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
Add lemon juice and zest, stirring to deglaze the pan.
If needed, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
Combine & Toss
Add the cooked angel hair pasta to the skillet and toss gently in the lemon butter sauce.
Return the shrimp to the pan and toss everything together.
Sprinkle with chopped parsley and Parmesan (if using).
Serve
Plate the pasta in shallow bowls or on a platter.
Garnish with extra lemon zest, parsley, and a lemon wedge.
