Ingredients
-
4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup orange juice
Zest of 1 orange
-
2 tablespoons soy sauce
-
2 tablespoons honey
-
1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening)
-
Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Directions
Prepare the Salmon
Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
Cook the Salmon
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the salmon fillets, skin-side down, and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Orange Glaze
In the same skillet, add the orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, honey, vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally. If you prefer a thicker glaze, stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook until the glaze thickens.
Glaze the Salmon
Return the salmon fillets to the skillet, spooning the glaze over the top. Let the salmon cook in the glaze for an additional 1-2 minutes, ensuring it's well-coated and heated through.
Serve
Transfer the salmon to a serving plate, spooning any remaining glaze over the top.
Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Enjoy!
Serve the orange glazed salmon with your favorite sides, such as steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.
