Where did Cento begin?
Founder Alfred Ciccotelli first began selling authentic Italian food products in the 1950's, just after he finished his time serving as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. Even through financial difficulties, Ciccotelli persevered because of his passion for Italian food and Italian cooking. He was proud to bring authentic Italian food from the motherland into the U.S.
What is Cento all about?
What started out as a small Italian market developed into something much larger than an Italian grocery store on the corner. Now, Cento is an Italian grocery store available to the masses, from restaurants to home kitchens. They bring quality Italian ingredients to the U.S. to share Italian food and culture so people can enjoy authentic Italian recipes.
What types of authentic Italian food do they produce?
Cento specializes in canned and bottled Italian goods, from vegetables to spreads to tuna fish. But that’s not all! Cento has seven other brands under its umbrella, including La Florentine and Ferrara, both of which we sell at Supermarket Italy.
