Description
These Jarred Lemons are packed in brine
These salted lemons have a much longer shelf life than regular lemons.
Rinse these salted fruits with cold water before adding them to both sweet and savory recipes in place of fresh lemons.
These lemons are preserved in brine, allowing them to be stored for significantly more time than fresh lemons. Preserved lemons are traditionally found in many Moroccan dishes, but they can be used in numerous recipes from across the globe. Use these Sanniti lemons to bake desserts, cook savory main courses, and flavor dressings and sauces.
To use these lemons, simply remove them from the glass jar, rinse off the excess salt, and separate the flesh from the rind. The rind is the part of the fruit that is most commonly minced in recipes. (Both the lemon flesh and lemon rind are usable.)
You can grate or chop the preserved lemon rind and use it to give cakes and salad dishes a bright color and zesty flavor. Or add thin slices of lemon to seafood and meat dishes such as chicken tagine with garlic and onions.
The lemon rind can also be used to garnish cocktails. Try a twist of this salty and sour rind in a whiskey sour, Tom Collins, or gin and tonic.
