The Fruitful Land of Emilia-Romagna
Emilia-Romagna is an Italian region brimming with gastronomic traditions, such as prosciutto di Parma and all the rich foods that come from the culinary capital of Bologna. It is also home to the one and only balsamic vinegar of Modena. Enzo Mancicardi joined this ancient artisan tradition when he began producing balsamic vinegar in the 1980s. His love of the verdant hills of Emilia-Romagna made him want to contribute to the land’s special heritage.

The balsamic vinegar brand from Modena relies on two local grape varieties: Lambrusco Grasparossa and Pignoletto. Manicardi produces quality products through a combination of traditional methods and modern technological innovations. And when these grapes aren’t used to craft excellent tasting IGP balsamic vinegar of Modena, they’re used to make lovely Italian wines and other types of vinegar.
