Borgo de’ Medici's very name is an homage to one of history’s most powerful dynasties, the Medici family of Florence, Italy. Every time they would conquer a new village, the rulers would stamp a local building with the Medici seal, officially making it a borgo de’ Medici. The Medici ascended to power because they were one of the most wealthy and powerful banking families in Tuscany, and it was with that money that they helped patronize the arts, turning Florence into a hotbed of culture during the Renaissance. The Tuscan food brand Borgo de’ Medici is extremely proud of their local heritage, and they desire nothing more than to share Tuscan cuisine with the world.
