An Old Tradition of Italian Soda

Stappi was founded in 1980, but Di Iorio, the company it was born from, began in 1896 with some of Italy’s first soft drinks. Di Iorio has worked for over 100 years to become one of the biggest names in Italian soda. Stappi is the parent company’s label for bottled Italian aperitifs — some of the country’s best non-alcoholic drinks. Stappi is now known across the globe for its signature red soda, Stappi Red Bitter.

Types of Stappi Italian Drinks

The most famous Stappi product is their non-alcoholic Red Bitter, a bright red soda that is beloved for its sweet-bitter flavor. It is an Italian aperitif, which is a drink that is best served before a meal to whet the appetite. Herbal roots, flavor extracts, and spices from East and West come together in this Italian drink; a living reminder of Europe’s history of colonization.

But Stappi Red Bitter is not the only flavor to the company’s name. They also offer chinotto, lemon, coffee, orange, and other varieties, all made with pure mineral water and other natural ingredients.

Stappi soft drinks can be drunk on their own or mixed with sparkling water for one of the best non-alcoholic drinks before dinner. This Italian soda is also often used as a cocktail mixer for Italian aperitifs, like prosecco spritzers.
