The picturesque fields of North Holland are home to the happy, healthy cows that produce Beemster Dutch cheese, and have been since the company began as a dairy co-op in 1901. To this day, Beemster cheeses are made using artisan techniques and old world traditions: The curds are stirred by hand, and the brine can be traced back to the same mother brine brewed at the company’s founding!
Beemster Red Wax Gouda Cheese is a traditional Dutch Gouda cheese encased in red wax. This type of Gouda has a mild, slightly nutty flavor and a buttery texture.
Pair this cheese with fresh fruit, crackers, and a selection of dry-cured meats on a charcuterie board. Melt this Gouda cheese in a burger, sandwich, or panini. Or enjoy it sliced with a glass of your favorite wine or sparkling cider. It also makes a wonderful choice for a gift basket.
