Sorghum is a dark sweet syrup with a flavor comparable to molasses but without the bitterness. Golden Barrel Sorghum Syrup can be substituted for molasses in any recipe that calls for molasses.
While similar, sorghum syrup is not the same as molasses. Molasses is a byproduct of the sugar manufacturing process. Sorghum is not a perishable crop and will not mold. It may "sugar" or crystallize like honey. To restore sorghum to a liquid state, simply gently warm it.
