Mitica Means Deep Connections and High Standards
Determined to bring fine Mediterranean food to the United States and beyond, Michele Buster and Pierluigi Sini began their company Forever Cheese in 1998. They developed the brand Mitica to serve as the signature distribution label for many of their products, and began curating the best cheeses, meats, and charcuterie board accompaniments that Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Croatia had to offer. The standards for acceptance into the Mitica brand are rigorous: the artisans develop a deep relationship with Buster and Sini and must undergo strict quality inspection. It is also critical for Mitica to tell the story of the crafters themselves. Every wedge of goat cheese, every box of marcona almonds has a little bit of history included.
