Ingredients
2 cups heavy cream
½ cup whole milk
-
⅓ cup granulated sugar
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2¼ teaspoons unflavored gelatin
3 tablespoons cold water
-
Pinch of salt
-
Luxardo Maraschino Cherries, 14 oz
Luxardo cherry syrup from the jar
Dark chocolate shavings, optional
Directions
Add the cold water to a small bowl and sprinkle the gelatin over it. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom.
Combine the heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of salt in a saucepan. Heat over medium-low heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot, but do not let it boil.
Remove from the heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until completely dissolved.
Divide the mixture between six small glasses, ramekins, or dessert cups.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until completely set.
Just before serving, top each panna cotta with 2–3 Luxardo Maraschino Cherries.
Drizzle a small amount of the rich Luxardo cherry syrup over each serving. Finish with dark chocolate shavings if desired.
