What is the difference between capellini and angel hair pasta?
There are so many names for all of the different types of pasta that it can admittedly get confusing. In this case, angel hair pasta is actually a thinner type of capellini pasta. Capellini is already a thin pasta to begin with, with a diameter between 0.85 and 0.92 millimeters. Angel Hair, also referred to as capelli d'angelo, typically has a diameter between 0.78 and 0.88 millimeters.
Why do people like angel hair pasta?
People love angel hair not only for the texture and the taste, but because it is perfect for light pasta recipes and other light dinner ideas. Angel hair tends to be associated with healthy pasta recipes because it is so light and pairs so well with delicate oils and sauces.
What types of pasta dishes can I make with angel hair?
Realistically, you can make whatever angel hair pasta recipes you want! However, most people choose to use angel hair as an ingredient for light dinner ideas and summer dinner recipes. Angel hair goes well with seafood and light butter or light cream sauces. This type of pasta can also be enjoyed simply with olive oil, garlic and vegetables, a.k.a. Pasta Primavera.
