Rummo has been crafting Italian pasta in Benevento, Campania, since 1846. Their long history of producing quality pasta has earned them several awards, including the Leonardo Award of Excellence and Legambiente’s Innovation & Environment’s Friend prize, in recognition of their significant reduction of CO2 emissions. To mark the brand's 175th birthday, the Italian Ministry of Economic Development even issued a commemorative postal stamp in 2021.
The Rummo Pasta Making Process
Every respected Italian pasta brand is particular about their methods, but Rummo went so far as to trademark theirs! Lenta Lavorazione is the name they gave to their careful, highly detailed pasta making process. It includes adjusting drying times and temperatures according to the needs of different pasta shapes. This requires master level skill to get the flavor and elasticity of the pasta just right. They also designed a mechanism that replicates the human bite for measuring the firmness of the noodles!
Types of Pasta by Rummo
Rummo produces all different types of pasta shapes, from orecchiette to mezzi rigatoni to bucatini. Over the years, they also introduced various lines such as egg pasta, gluten free and organic. Whether you’re making a simple tomato basil sauce or throwing sausage and broccoli into the mix, Rummo has the pasta types you need.
